Provide a grant to Reptile Presidente for marketing services for the LBP on Fjord Foundry

I am posting this proposal to provide Shutter DAO 0x36 with information about an opportunity to promote the LBP via an additional marketing channel.

Reptile Presidente does not make proposals to DAO and is not available to answer follow-up questions.

I have tried to include all relevant information. I am not in favor of or opposed to this proposal. Shutter DAO 0x36 members are welcome to discuss, signal their favor/opposition, and (if desired) put it to a vote on Fractal.

Proposal

The Shutter DAO will disburse 2 ETH tokens Reptile Presidente to their wallet address on Ethereum Mainnet - ADDRESS - upon approval of this proposal.

Reptile Presidente will list the LBP on lbplaunches.com, and send an email blast regarding the LBP to email list subscribers either before the LBP or on the day of the LBP launch (our choice).

Note: Reptile Residente requires advanced payment in full before commencing work.

Pros

Reptile Presidente is the oldest and most well known curator and email marketing agency on Fjord Foundry. They have backed more than 50 projects, recently including: LENX ($10.22M), KOI ($5.37M), and RSTK ($2.73M).

Reptile Presidente is Founder of lbplaunches.com and a related email list dedicated to LBPs, with an open rate of 38% among 3,000+ subscribers. They are also CMO of Vela Exchange.

Cons

The website lbplaunches.com does not appear to have been updated in 6+ months. Reptile Presidente recently stated: “My dev is working on updating all the recent launches.”

Although Reptile Presidente has provided email marketing services for successful campaigns, he has also provided services for mediocre campaign, recently including: Reboot ($118K - still live) and Fortuna ($264K)

Note

Shutter DAO 0x36 treasury currently holds 1.2 ETH. So Shutter DAO 0x36 would need to acquire at least an additional 0.8 ETH before it could approve this proposal.

Thank you @Loring-Brainbot for proposing this we would like to have more information to be able to make up our minds.

How many emails are on their list ? Do we have some metrics in terms of clicks and opening rates ? Same for their website do they have a lot of traffic ? I can’t see Cadence a recent LBP launch I have followed I guess its because their website wasn’t updated this last 6 months as you said and when we clicked on the 5 first project “View auction” there is an error 404 …

We aren’t experts about these kind of services but find that almost 5k$ for mailing services with little information seems a bit expensive. Thanks in advance for your answer

I vote NO. I personally hate this kind of marketing and I think using something like Reptile Presidente would only reach “shit coiners”, which in my views are not the kind of people ShutterDAO should target.

I vote NO for this, because I personally never open the marketing email and treat them as scam. Most of my friend do the same thing. I think it is not necessary.
