Proposal to Select A Dev House on Retainer czepluch I Snapshot 10.06.2024

Proposal

A month ago, I proposed creating a Request for Proposal (RFP) to hire a development house on a retainer basis. The proposal was put to a vote on Snapshot and passed with 100% voting “Yes”: Three dev houses then submitted bids: Blockful, General Magic, Three Sigma. I now propose that Shutter DAO select a dev house on retainer using ranked choice voting.

I have experience with Blockful - I’ll link to the comments I made on their initial proposal. [RFP] Develop a Keyper Incentive Mechanism and (delegated) Staking - Blockful - #2 by 5pence

I’d also like to add that when the social proposal for the 3 million DSR deposit passed, I asked Blockful if they wanted to support 0x36 by helping to research and craft the executable proposal for the transfer.

They researched the best ways to perform the 3million USDC → DAI → Deposit safely using PSM swaps, ensuring the deposit function was properly crafted. It went smoothly.

@d0z3y raised a few question in the Shutter Friends Telegram group. A few quick answers:

Is there any contractual commitment on our part to a minimum amount of work, or exclusive use of the selected developer (I assume not)? Linked to the above, is there anything preventing us from voting on a new dev partner if for someone reason the originally selected one doesn’t work out?

There is no commitment for Shutter DAO 0x36 to give them a minimum amount of work.

There is no exclusive relationship.

There is nothing to prevent Shutter DAO 0x36 from using more than one dev house in parallel and/or replacing the dev house on retainer.
