Unclaimed vest: Administrative Tasks for Shutter DAO 0x36 Treasury

Good morning ladies and sirs,

I have some admin task proposals that need to be posted, here is the first one.

Some context here: This concerns the initial Shutter genesis allocation. The allocation details are here. Not all of those who were eligible claimed their initial allocation.

Currently 4% of total supply (more for claimable supply) is unclaimed.

Proposal

Shutter DAO 0x36 should execute administrative tasks, including:

  1. transfer unclaimed SHU from the Vesting Contract to the Shutter DAO 0x36 treasury, and

  2. remove the VestingPoolManager as a module from the treasury.

Transfer Unclaimed SHU

Genesis Allocation recipients were able to claim Shutter Tokens (SHU) through 14 July 2024 at https://claim.shutter.network/.

46,154,583.76269671627 SHU (4.6155% of the max SHU supply) remains in the Vesting Contract.

Shutter DAO 0x36 should execute a transaction to transfer unclaimed SHU from the Vesting Contract to the Shutter DAO 0x36 treasury.

Remove VestingPoolManager as a Module

The VestingPoolManager is currently enabled as a Safe module at the Treasury.

SHU token was originally non-transferable. The VestingPoolManager allowed Genesis Allocation recipients to withdraw their Genesis Allocations from the Genesis Allocation contract into their individual vesting contracts.

SHU token is now transferable. As a result, VestingPoolManager is no longer needed and the module can be safely removed.

For this topic, I’d like to add that Shutter DAO should make at least two attemps to reach the participants who have unclaimed their allocation before closing down the vesting.

  • New blog post
  • Tweet few times
  • Reach in private if participants are known

This would be in the name of good governance, good crypto spirit and making sure these people have not simply missed the original message.

While this is conflict of interest for Shutter DAO to maximize their treasury, I feel we should make sure the optics of Shutter DAO are perfect and no one is going to feel they were hurt in the process, whether this feeling is deserved or not.

Is there any list that shows unclaimed addresses?

Hey Shutter Community! :shield:

We started to work on this demand as shows below:

Administrative tasks for Shutter

Task Estimated Hours Status Cost
Craft calldata to retrieve unvesting tokens 26h To do $2.221
  • Timeline for completion: We expect to finish on the week of 05/08
  • Issues are linked on the scope description
  • Estimated hours in Tasks that aren’t Done can suffer change.

As soon we have updates on this project, I’ll post here again!

Any questions or feedback for improvement please let me know.

Hi @miohtama -

Thanks for sharing this proposal.

A couple of notes about attempting to reach Genesis Allocation recipients who have not activated their SHÄU holdings:

Activation Period

The activation period ended on 14 July 2024. Shutter DAO 0x36 is not able to extend the activation period.

As a result, Genesis Allocation recipients who have not activated their SHU holdings will not able able to do so in the future.

Announcements

brainbot did announce the end of the activation period in the days and weeks before 14 July 2024, including 2 Tweets, 1 blog article and 1 community call:

Thank you so much.

It is good to have this communicated, so there is later not going to be bad air on this.

Task finished, test and simulation are available here. It took 12h, less than expected (26h). So this will also reflect in a lower payment for the already approved budget in the estimate.

The call data to be used in the EP is:

Dear Shutter DAO Community,

As Greenfield, we need to address our missed token allocation activation deadline and seek community input on potential remediation.

Key Points:

  • We’ve been active contributors since Shutters inception
  • Unfortunately we missed the July 15, 2024 activation deadline for our 909,090.9091 SHU allocation
  • The miss was due to communication gaps, not lack of commitment
  • We’ve maintained active infrastructure preparation for keyper node operations

We’re submitting a proposal to restore our allocation, as we remain committed to operating a keyper node and contributing to network security in the second keypers set.

Our team has been consistently engaged with the project, and we believe restoring our allocation aligns with the network’s best interests for Shutters security and decentralization.

We welcome your feedback on the proposal for best path forward.

Best regards,

Greenfield Team
