Requesting resources and support to organize a collaborative event representing Shutter Network, ShutterDAO during Devcon 7, Bangkok.
Goals
- Provide an in-person meetup for DAO members, supporters of Shutter Network and other co-hosts/ projects, offering a rare opportunity for the community to connect face-to-face.
- Increase visibility and awareness of J Shutter Network, ShutterDAO, and the discussed topics, particularly MEV, new DeFi primitives, and the latest developments within the Ethereum community.
- Attract builders, developers, and thought leaders to engage, explore collaboration opportunities, and contribute to ongoing initiatives.
Proposal Overview
This proposal aims to host a side event during Devcon 7, Bangkok, tentatively scheduled for November 11, 2024, from 6-8 pm and beyond. The event will be held at a venue not far from the Devcon conference location to encourage attendance. It will feature a panel discussion on MEV, new DeFi primitives, and the latest developments within the Ethereum community, followed by a networking session with drinks and refreshments.
JLH Ventures will manage the logistics to ensure a seamless event experience, while ShutterDAO and other partner projects will co-host, sharing costs and contributing to a diverse agenda.

Event Details
- Venue: A fully-managed location near the Devcon 7 venue, accommodating 50-80 attendees, with catering and AV equipment for talks and discussions. The venue will be easily accessible by the Bangkok Skytrain (BTS) metro system and taxis, ensuring convenient travel for all attendees.
- Agenda: A panel discussion covering MEV, new DeFi primitives, and the latest updates in the Ethereum community, followed by a casual networking session with drinks to encourage further discussion and connections among DAO members, builders, and community participants.
- Cost-Sharing: Each co-hosting project, including ShutterDAO, will contribute 3000 USDC towards venue, catering, and event logistics.
Budget Items
The budget will cover the following:
- Venue Rental: A suitable location close to the Devcon venue with the necessary facilities for panel discussions and networking.
- Catering: Drinks and light refreshments for attendees throughout the event.
- Furniture & Venue Setup: Costs associated with setting up furniture, seating, and any required AV equipment at the venue.
Note on Costs: Should the event’s cost be lower than the proposed budget due to increased participation and cost-sharing from other projects, JLH Ventures will return the remaining funds to ShutterDAO.
Swag & Promotional Material: While this proposal will not cover any specific branded items, ShutterDAO and any other DAO participants are welcome to bring their own swag and promotional material to distribute during the event.

Motivation Devcon 7 offers a prime opportunity to engage with the broader community.
