Brainbot Update for July 2026

Summary

In July 2026, brainbot continued expanding Shutter as a suite of products and as an ecosystem - with a focus on generating revenue for Shutter DAO 0x36. On the technical side, we continued developing existing products (esp private & verifiable voting for real world governments and orgs, and shared agents) and pioneered new ones (esp in the InfoFi space). On the partners side, focused on strengthening and expanding recently-established programs (esp Shutter Champions, the “Encrypt The Mempool! Coalition, and Shutter PEN).

Keypers

Keyper Sets - Gnosis: 7 online / 6 active (threshold 4/7). Time Capsule API: 10 online / 8 active (threshold 5/11). Production API: 5 online / 5 active (threshold 3/5).

Keyper Operations - Monitored uptime, synchronization, RPC connectivity, and key participation. Added a Telegram alerting group for Keypers to improve alert management, and automated Keyper uptime reporting.

Keyper DKG Rewrite - Started rewriting the DKG to run on Gnosis to avoid the pitfalls encountered while running it on Shuttermint. EPIC 701.

Encrypted Transaction Ordering

Ethereum Mainnet - Encrypted Mempool EIP

• Worked with EF, LUCID and other teams to re-evaluate three encrypted mempool designs: LUCID (inc optionality/withholding attack mitigation), enshrined threshold encryption (path to post quantum resistant), and enshrined threshold encryption (post quantum resistant).

• Ethereum Mainnet - Primev - Continued worked with Primev and Quasar (builder) on out-of-protocol solution for pre-confirmed encrypted transactions. However, progress is slow due to Primev constrained engineering resources.

Private Voting & Governance

Private Voting - Munich Project - The project is ready for the prototype release and the first live voting test with real voters. The test is scheduled for mid September (due to summer holidays affecting government workers that this is targeting).

Private Voting - Snapshot Permanent Private Voting - Created a PR to Snapshot’s repo and shared with their team for review.

Shutter Governance SDK - Worked on a new release for an SDK of the Governance-specific aspects of Shutter, making it easy for any governance projects, real world voting solutions and municipalities to integrate or build private, verifiable voting solutions.

Shared Agents - Testing our internal PoC of a shared agent launcher and developed a second PoC for ephemeral/mediator type shared agents.

Shutter API

Time Capsule Key Restoration - Coordinated restoration of the November Time Capsule backups and resolved the last remaining issues; 8/11 Keypers restored the required keys and the decryption keys were released successfully.**

Shutter API Infrastructure - Continued infrastructure improvements and stabilization work across deployments and the Keyper client, and verified the API is ready to release one key per minute under sustained load.

Cryptography Research

Post-Quantum Threshold Encryption - Created a new group to coordinate EF researchers and leading threshold cryptography researchers to achieve practical quantum-resistant threshold encryption for encrypted mempools on Ethereum. Implemented 2 threshold cryptography papers (BLT-25 and pq-BEAT) and benchmarked them.

Misc Development

Private Prediction Market - Developed a ZK-powered POC. In public prediction markets, the price is public the instant it exists. In our POC, the party who wants the information runs the venue (operator = information buyer), keeps the order book dark, and pays traders for their information through on-chain committed quoting obligations.

EIP Campaigns - Conceptualized and began developing EIP Campaigns - a simple and (lightly) gamified way for Ethereum users and orgs to credibly signal support EIPs in specific hardforks, and to fund our core devs.

Partner / Developer Support

"Encrypt The Mempool!” Coalition

• Names of supporters and contributors added to coalition website

• A refreshed coaltion website was launched

• Eureka Governance have volunteered to manage the coalition X account and creating content

• Continued hosting a bi-weekly working group to focus on non-technical aspects of getting an encrypted mempool EIP included in the I* Hardfork.

• Continued promoting the 3 ETH “Feedback on the Draft EIPs” technical bounty on POIDH - resulting in 6 submissions/claims.

• Vibe coded EIP Campaigns (on Sepolia testnet) - to help people and orgs signal support for EIPs in specific hardforks.

Onchain Governance Platform - Supported the migration to a new onchain governance platform: collected submission from Anticapture, Cactus and Snapshot, facilitated an offchain vote.

Active Treasury Management - Facilitated a discussion and an offchain vote.

Shutter Champions - Successfully completed Shutter Champions: Melee 2, which is currently distributing $10,000 to educators (EthDaily, BOOE, W3PN) and bounty winners. Launched Shutter Champions: Melee 3, which will distribute $10,000 focused on revenue and profitability.

Delegate Support - Provided feedback on draft proposals and posts.

Shutter PEN - Supported community members to publish and claim bounties related to Shutter PEN: deployment, ENS purchase, holders.vote space, Snapshot spaces, etc.
