Shutter Champions: Melee 3 has concluded. After reviewing what was submitted, brainbot gmbh has chosen not to select any funding slate. Therefore, Melee 3 ends with no funding distributed.
Round Overview
Melee 3 followed the same basic shape as earlier rounds: SHU purchasers accrued voting power over the qualifying period, Delegates and Keyper were invited to craft funding slates, and brainbot would select up to four slates for a ranked-choice vote.
Unfortunately, only one slate was submitted in Melee 3.The proposed slate was Shutter Opportunity Markets, put forward by Axia Network. It proposed a three-month pilot of a permissionless decentralized CRM for Shutter API and protocol revenue opportunities, paired with decision markets using the Shutter API to seal positions until trading closes, and attribution rewards tied to opportunities that produce verified revenue. Requested funding was $10,000 in USDC.
Why No Slate Was Selected
The underlying idea of Shutter Opportunity Markets is worth considering. However, brainbot chose not to select the proposed slate for two reasons: First, the proposed slate, as submitted, leaves its mechanisms, actors, and amounts undefined. Second, the proposed slate would have been the only slate up for a vote. Melee 3 voters would have been given a yes/no choice on Shutter Opportunity Markets slate rather than a ranked-choice on four competing slates. As a result, brainbot chose not to select the proposed slate and let the round end.
What Happens to the Funds
The yield generated by the Octant v2 DeFi yield vault will remain in the vault. Nothing is being spent, and nothing is being redirected.
In the future, Shutter DAO 0x36 will decide whether to deploy the $10,000 of yield in Melee 4, keep it in the Octant v2 DeFi yield vault, or transfer it to the main Shutter DAO 0x36 treasury.

The Octant v2 Pilot to Optimize Treasury & Strengthen Ecosystem recommends conducting a pilot review and evaluation after two full grant cycles or six months after launch. Shutter Champions has run three funding rounds (“Melees”) over the past six months. In the coming weeks, brainbot will be collecting feedback and suggestions from the Shutter community, publishing an evaluation of the Octant v2 pilot / Shutter Champions program to date, and proposing next steps to Shutter DAO 0x36.
