Contribution Title: Stop letting your crypto trades get eaten :french_fries: (Shutter explained)

Contribution Status:

  • :check_box_with_check: Planned

**Description of Contribution: ** I’m Jessyfries, a content creator focused on making complex crypto concepts easy to understand through simple, relatable explanations.

My audience consists of crypto users who are active in the space but not deeply familiar with how transactions, MEV, or mempools work.

This contribution will be a single short-form video explaining:

  • why users get worse execution on trades (front-running / sandwich attacks)

  • how the public mempool creates this problem

  • how Shutter’s encrypted mempool helps prevent it

The video will use a simple fries-based analogy, comparing a crypto trade to ordering fries and having someone β€œeat part of your order before it reaches you” to clearly illustrate how front-running works and why it matters.

**Key Milestones: ** The video will be published across Twitter/X, YouTube shorts during the week of May 11 with a target publication date of May 14, 2026.

**Impact on Shutter Ecosystem: ** This content will introduce Shutter to crypto users who are not deeply familiar with DeFi infrastructure, helping them understand why they sometimes get worse execution on trades and how front-running causes it, as well as why encrypted mempools matter.

By using a simple, relatable fries analogy, the video makes the concept easy to understand and more likely to be shared.

This supports broader awareness of Shutter beyond technical audiences, with impact measured through views, engagement, and reach across platforms.

Previous Contributions to Shutter (if any): No prior direct contributions to Shutter.

Collaboration / Team Members: Solo creator. All content is conceptualized, filmed, edited, and distributed by me.

Anything Else:

I’ve previously created content within the Octant ecosystem and understand how to translate infrastructure-level concepts into accessible, engaging formats.

This contribution applies the same approach to Shutter, focusing on clarity, relatability, and reach.

Just a quick note regarding …

The video publication date overlaps with the Melee 1 Voting Period (May 12 - 15). It is unclear whether you are requesting proactive funding (for future work, grant upon milestone delivery) or retroactive funding (for past work, grant delivered immediately). You may consider either 1) moving up the video publication date to sometime before May 12, or 2) moving back the video publication date to after May 15.
