If I am not mistaken sDai to USDC is 1.18, which means that the amount you’re asking for is higher than $143,000 from last month—roughly 152k for November against 143k from October.
I don’t see a justification for the increased amount in the post here. Could you explain the increased rate?
At the time of posting this proposal, the price of sDAI on CoinMarketCap was $1.10. So I requested 130,000 sDAI.
If the price changes before Nov 17 (or if you have better price info, I will update the onchain proposal to ensure the proposed amount of sDAI is equal to $143,000.
CoinMarketCap seems to be reporting the price in a very weird way for sDai. It makes no sense. If you look at https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/savings-dai it looks more like how an actual savings dai is supposed to work and it’s actually at a stable price.
Either way, I’m a little late to the party, but the 143k is still more than the 120k that the 6-month grant was paying out in the end. And that grant was based on 12 FTEs, I believe. Your monthly update now states 7.25 FTEs. I’m trying to understand the numbers and how the amount of money is increasing while the number of FTEs is decreasing.
When brainbot accepted a reduced recurring grant, we were forced to reduce team size to reduce costs:
Jan 2025: 12 FTEs
May 2025: 9.55 FTEs
Oct 2025: 7.25
Prior to applying for a grant for Oct 2025, we reviewed brainbot income/costs and found the reduced recurring grant of $120,000 per month was not covering our costs. As a result, we increased the monthly grant amount to $143,000 in Oct and Nov 2025.
Okay, I don’t know the internals and budgeting so I can’t comment on the spending of BB.
But I still would encourage you to reconsider the amount of sDai for the grant as everywhere I’ve looked, except of coinmarketcap shows quite different price.
