The Weekly Doots — Shutter Ecosystem Coverage (Loring Episode + Ongoing Series)
Contribution Status
☐ Completed

Description of Contribution
The Weekly Doots is the community podcast of r/ethereum and EVMavericks, focused on thoughtful conversations with Ethereum builders and ecosystem contributors.
We have already delivered a dedicated episode featuring Loring Harkness from Shutter, covering MEV, encrypted mempools, threshold encryption, and Shutter’s role in improving transaction fairness on Ethereum. This content was produced and published before seeking any grant funding.
We also have Luis / Justin from Shutter currently scheduled to appear on The Weekly Doots on May 15th, demonstrating that our support for Shutter is ongoing and not a one-off mention.
Grant-funded extensions will include:
• Short-form video clips from prior and upcoming Shutter episodes
• A written explainer published to r/ethereum and community channels
• Redistribution of Shutter content across Farcaster, X, and Discord
• Highlighting of Shutter milestones and ecosystem progress when relevant
• Continued organic coverage of aligned topics
Key Milestones
• Loring Harkness episode — already published (prior to this application)
• Luis / Justin from Shutter episode — scheduled May 15th
• Short-form clips — within 2 weeks of each episode publication
• Written explainer — within 3 weeks of May 15th episode
• Distribution / amplification — ongoing across all channels
Impact on Shutter Ecosystem
Our coverage translates complex Shutter concepts — encrypted mempools, threshold encryption, MEV protection — into accessible conversations for an Ethereum-native audience that may not engage with technical documentation.
Value can be tracked and demonstrated by:
• Episode listen/view counts and listener growth
• Clip impressions and engagement across X, Farcaster, and Discord
• r/ethereum post upvotes and comment engagement on the written explainer
• Referral traffic to Shutter resources linked from episode show notes

5. SHU Funding Request
Requested Amount (USD Equivalent)
$1,200 in SHU
Justification of Amount
The requested amount reflects fair compensation for work already delivered and a defined set of additional deliverables tied directly to Shutter. The breakdown is as follows:
| Deliverable | Amount |
|---|---|
| Prior Shutter coverage (Loring episode) | $350 |
| Upcoming Shutter coverage support (May 15 episode) | $250 |
| Video clips / editing / formatting | $200 |
| Written explainer | $250 |
| Distribution / amplification | $100 |
| Contributor support / coordination | $50 |
| Total | $1,200 |
We chose to cover Shutter independently before applying for this grant, demonstrating that our support is genuine and not contingent on funding. This grant would recognize that prior contribution and help extend it through continued coverage, reusable content assets, and clearer education for Ethereum users.
6. Additional Information
Previous Contributions to Shutter (if any)
Dedicated Weekly Doots episode featuring Loring Harkness from Shutter — published prior to this application. The episode provided exposure to an engaged Ethereum-native listener base and created a permanent public content asset covering MEV, encrypted mempools, and transaction fairness.
Anything Else
We have additional Shutter coverage already scheduled (May 15th episode), which is unusual for a grant application — it shows that our relationship with Shutter is active and ongoing. We are a low-cost, high-leverage distribution channel with a proven track record of simplifying technical Ethereum topics for a broad community audience.
